BURNHAM | One person was shot and another was injured at the Little Brown Jug bar in Burnham early Sunday, police said.

One man was taken to Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Hammond with a gunshot wound, said Pete Belos, Burnham police chief.

Another man was beaten. He was airlifted to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Belos said. The second man was expected to be released from the hospital late Sunday.

Belos said the men were injured during a fight that started at about 3 a.m. inside the bar at 14540 Torrence Ave., and spilled outside. Several people beat up the man who was hospitalized.

He said detectives were reviewing surveillance video from the bar to identify everyone involved in the fight. Police weren't sure what caused the fight.

The names of the two people injured were not released Sunday. Belos said police had not made any arrests.

An employee at the bar reached by phone Sunday declined to comment.
