CALUMET CITY | Thornton Fractional North High School students Kayla Adams and Arianna Williams won first place in the Ready … Set … Cook competition on Feb. 20.

Ready … Set … Cook is a culinary arts competition for high school students interested in pursuing careers in food service. Participating students received an instructional demonstration and were then issued a challenge from award-winning chef and host of “Let’s Dish," Chris Koetke.

Among dishes from six other teams of high school students, Adams' and Williams' meal was selected as the winner from a panel of three Kendall College chefs. Adams and Williams are enrolled in the District 215 culinary arts program.
