CALUMET CITY | All northbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Freeway were open at Sibley Boulevard at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday following a fatal accident there in the morning.

According to Illinois State Police, officers were called to the crash at 9:25 a.m. between a semi hauling a flatbed trailer and a Jeep Liberty SUV. The driver of the semi was killed in the accident, police said.

Accident reconstruction teams and representatives from the Illinois State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division remained at the scene at 1:15 p.m. Police said their investigation would have the expressway closed until at least mid-afternoon.
