Cal City Lions donate to Tuskegee Airmen

CALUMET CITY | At a recent meeting of the Calumet City Lions Club, O. Lawton Wilkerson, of Markham, spoke about his experiences training as a pilot at the Tuskegee Institute during World War II.

Wilkerson was one of the first pilots to fly a B25 at age 19. A documentary called "Who Says Black Men Can't Fly?" was also shown during the meeting.

The Calumet City Lions made a donation of $200 to the Tuskegee Airmen's Chicago DODO Chapter Scholarship Fund.
