CALUMET CITY | A Calumet City man was shot near his home there Thursday night, police said.

Assistant Police Chief Tom DiFiori said officers were called around 9 p.m. to a home in the 300 block of Pulaski Road for a call of a gunshot victim.

A witness told police a 21-year-old resident came into the home saying he'd been shot. The man was shot twice, once in the arm and once in the ankle.

DiFiori said the man was transported to Franciscan St. Margaret Health hospital in Hammond for treatment.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the anonymous tip line at (708) 891-STOP or (708) 891-7867.
