CALUMET CITY | Alderman Leni Wosczynski, of the 2nd Ward, and Calumet City Health Commissioner Dr. Juan Tellez are sponsoring a Health & Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 17 at the Calumet City Public Library, Community Room, 660 Manistee Ave.
Representatives from several organizations will be at the fair offering advice on cancer prevention, veterans services, losing weight and providing free blood pressure checks. Participants can also learn about the city's Neighborhood Watch and crime prevention efforts, purchase city stickers, open an account with BMO Harris Bank, learn about nutritional programs for eligible individuals, how to save money on utility bills, senior services provided by Thornton Township and other programs.
Monetary donations will be collected for the Humane Society of the Calumet Area.
