EAST CHICAGO | A Calumet City teen died Sunday morning after being shot in East Chicago.

Christian Taylor, 17, of the 1300 block of Wentworth Avenue, was pronounced dead at 11:40 a.m. Sunday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Taylor suffered gunshot wounds in a shooting in the 4300 block of Baring Avenue in East Chicago. The time and date of the shooting were not available.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today, the spokeswoman said.

East Chicago police were not immediately available for comment Monday morning.
