Celebrate Black History Month on Saturday in Calumet City

CALUMET CITY | The Calumet Memorial Park District presents Eclectic Extravaganza, a celebration of Black History Month with music, dance, spoken word poetry, and much more from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Special guest speakers will include U.S. Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr., D-Ill.;  Burnham Village President Robert Polk, recently named one of the Chicago area's "50 Men of Excellence" by the Chicago Defender; and Park District Executive Director Charles Dockery.

This free special event takes place at the Sandridge Community Center, 600 Oglesby Ave.
