CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Dominating their own speech tourney, Marian Catholic rolled up 444 points in its own Marian Catholic Invitational on Nov. 10.

Marian's strong effort was led by individual champions Dan Blewitt ’14, Crete; Cooper Packard ’14, Lansing; Tiaffany Pia Lyander ’13, Hazel Crest; Holly Dankowski ’13, Park Forest; Kyliah Thompson ’14, Richton Park; and Regina Hoyles ’14, Olympia Fields.

Marian Catholic Speech Team performed with comfort and grace as they hosted this year’s classic. Packard and Blewitt placed first in Humorous Duet Acting; Lyander won first in Humorous Interpretation; Dankowski won first in Radio Speaking; Thompson placed first in Oratorical Declamation; Hannah Lang ’13, Monee, placed second in Informative Speaking; Packard won second in Special Occasion Speaking; DeAira Cooper ’13, Lynwood, placed third in Humorous Interpretation; Blewitt and Kyle Fitzgerald ’13, Park Forest, won third in Dramatic Duet Acting; Jasmine Jackson ’13, Country Club Hills, third in Informative Speaking; Emerson Pavur ’15, Monee, and Laura Hilger ’14, Oak Forest, fourth in Dramatic Duet Acting; Alyssa Lorenzo ’14, Thornton, fourth in Humorous Interpretation; Cristen Milliner ’14, Richton Park, fourth in Informative Speaking; Hilger fifth in Dramatic Interpretation; Myles Bradley’14, South Holland; fourth in Extemporaneous Speaking; Scott Mlcoch ’13, Munster, fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking; Jasmin Weaver’13, Calumet City, fifth in Original Oratory; Thompson fifth in Poetry Reading; Fitzgerald fifth in Prose Reading; Megan Ringo ’14, Crete, fifth in Radio Speaking; Michelle Caperelli ’13, Chicago Heights, fifth in Special Occasion Speaking; Theresa Milazzo’14, Matteson, fifth in Oratorical Declamation; Lang sixty in Poetry Reading; Milliner sixth in Impromptu Speaking.

Finalists include Milazzo in Impromptu Speaking; Lorenzo in Oratorical Declamation; Desiree McCray’14, Country Club Hills, in Poetry Reading; Ken Pilota’13, Chicago Heights, in Radio Speaking.
