CALUMET CITY | The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office on Monday ruled the shooting death of a 17-year-old South Holland boy was “accidental.”

Tyshaun McClurge died Saturday night while visiting a friend who lived on Oglesby Avenue.

Police Assistant Chief Dan Zorzi said the ruling by the medical examiner’s office is, “consistent with the stories we were told by witnesses to the shooting.”

Police are still waiting for other test results to return before closing the case, including a search of the firearm in question, Zorzi said. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force assisted in the investigation of the death.
