CALUMET CITY | The Youth Services Department at the Calumet City Library, 660 Manistee Ave., is closed temporarily and all programs canceled due to severe storm damage from the cold snap in early January.

Library Director Jane Rowland said the Youth Services area sustained water damage to its roof and part of the drop ceiling had fallen. She did not have a cost estimate for the repairs but said an insurance inspector has looked at it and they are awaiting the general contractor to begin repairs that will be covered by insurance.

Consequently, all Youth Services programs are cancelled until the area can open again. The rest of the library remains open.

Information on specific programs is with the library at (708) 862-6220. The library will also make an announcement when youth programs resume.
