CALUMET CITY | Two teams of Thornton Fractional North students, led by social studies teacher Matthew Flood, won second and third place in The Stock Market Game program’s online portfolio simulation. The T.F. North teams, who beat out more than 363 other teams throughout the region, received medals and certificates for their achievement.
The Stock Market Game program is used by social studies, math, language arts, business, and technology teachers to increase student engagement and teach students real-life economic and financial skills. The lessons and instructional materials for the Stock Market Game program support Illinois and Common Core standards.
Maya McReynolds and Teona Daniels received second place and Heaven Soto and Jaidah Sapp received third place.
