CALUMET CITY | A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg Wednesday night in the 300 block of Pulaski Road, police said.

Calumet City Assistant Police Chief Tom DiFiori said the teen was shot once in the leg about 8:30 p.m. The teen was taken to Franciscan St. Margaret Health hospital in Hammond.

DiFiori said the shooting remained under investigation. He said it was not yet clear what led to the shooting and did not know if the teen was inside a home or on the street when he was shot.

There were no other reported injuries.

There were no suspects in custody as of Wednesday night, DiFiori said.
