CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Four Bloom High School students will be competing as a team in the Business Professionals of America national contest this spring.

The student team qualified for the national competition by winning first place in the broadcast news production category in the recent BPA Illinois state contest held in Oak Brook.

The team, seniors Rachel Forsyth and Aaliyah Northern and juniors William Smolsky-Gibson and Margaret Hitchcock, will compete against approximately 5,000 other students from throughout the country.

The national BPA contest will take place April 30 through May 4 in Indianapolis. Accompanying the students will be Glenn Grecek, Bloom business teacher and Bloom BPA club adviser.

BPA is a nationwide student organization promoting professionalism and citizenship.
