CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Prairie State College is hosting several events in February in celebration of Black History Month. All events will take place on the college’s main campus, at 202 S. Halsted St.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, the Charles Drew/Heartland Blood Drive will take place in the Atrium. The blood drive is sponsored by the Campus Programming Board.

Coinciding with the next PSC Christopher Art Gallery exhibit, Selections from Collaborative Vision: the Poetic Dialogue Project, and supported by a grant from the PSC Foundation, visual artist LaShawnda Crowe Storm and poet and Yoruba priestess Maria Hamilton Eliza Abegunde will be visiting PSC. They will present their collaborative project that can be seen in the exhibition. Their dialogue resulted in a collaborative installation that looks at black history in terms of women's roles. The event will take place Monday in the Conference Center’s Heritage Room from 9:45 a.m. to noon.
