CHICAGO HEIGHTS | The Bloom Township High School District 206 Board of Education gave its approval this week to a contract to install a new public address system at Bloom Trail High School.
School board members awarded a contract to New Care Hawk Systems, to pay the Chicago-based company $25,000 for the PA system that district Superintendent Lenell Navarre said will be installed during the summer months for the campus at 22331 Cottage Grove Ave.
The School Board, which met briefly Monday for its only scheduled meeting in July, also reviewed a draft of the budget that would cover the district’s expenses for the 2013-14 school year.
The draft budget lacked many of the specific dollar figures, but is a part of the process by which a budget is compiled.
Navarre said the School Board likely will review a tentative budget when it meets again Aug. 12.
At that time, the budget proposal will be made available at the district’s offices at 100 W. 10th St., for a 30-day period.
Final approval of a budget for the upcoming school year likely will come when the board meets in September. Navarre said the board rescheduled that session from Sept. 9 to Sept. 16 to ensure that the public had sufficient time to review the budget.
