MARKHAM | A Cook County judge on Friday ordered a 16-year-old boy from Ford Heights held without bail on charges he fatally shot a 17-year-old boy from Chicago Heights, according to a news release.

Paris Walker, of Ford Heights, appeared before Judge Darron Bowden at the 6th District Cook County Circuit Court in Markham. He is charged with murder in the slaying of Malik McMillian, 17, of Chicago Heights, according to the release from the Cook County state's attorney's office.

At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Walker and McMillian had an argument in the area of the 1400 block of Ambassador Lane in Ford Heights, prosecutors said. When McMillian tried to leave, Walker fired several shots, hitting McMillian and killing him.

Cook County sheriff's police arrested Walker later that evening.

Walker's next court date is Feb. 13.
