CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Prairie State College recently honored its graduating veterans during a special stole ceremony on campus.

PSC President Terri L. Winfree and Gregory Thomas, PSC vice president of student affairs and dean of students, welcomed the students and speakers the Rev. William Fleshman, of Pastor Abundant Living Church in Dolton, Ill., a U.S. Army veteran who delivered the invocation and benediction; PSC associate professor Andrew Schott, who gave the keynote address; and Paul Pipik, coordinator of the PSC Student Veterans Center, who introduced Schott during the event.

The veterans who were honored were Julie A. Hughes, Tracey Skinner, Kurt E. Stremming, Lora A. Gordon, Yvonne Russell; Ruben Rosales, Andrea Ellison-Parish, and Tameka J. Bobb. More than 400 students will graduate from PSC with associate degrees and certificates during the 55th annual commencement on May 17.
