CHICAGO HEIGHTS | The Chicago Heights Police Department said the death of a 2-month-old girl on Sunday was accidental, according to a news release.

Police and paramedics responded at 11:28 p.m. Sunday to the home in the 600 block of Union Avenue for an unresponsive infant. Paramedics attempted to help the infant, Danae Billups, and transported the girl to Franciscan St. James Health in Chicago Heights where she was pronounced dead on arrival, the release states.

An autopsy was performed Monday at the Cook County medical examiner's office. It appears the infant suffocated and the death appears accidental, pending further tests by the medical examiner's office, the release states.
