CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Police had a person of interest Wednesday morning in the Saturday shooting death of a 19-year-old Chicago Heights man.

A news release issued Wednesday said Chicago Heights police responded at 5:37 p.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired and a man down in the 400 block of West 17th Street. Police found Henry Strong with a gunshot wound to the head.

Strong was transported to Franciscan St. James Health hospital in Chicago Heights. He was later airlifted to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for further treatment.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office pronounced Strong dead at 11:20 p.m. Monday. The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the head suffered in a homicide.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is working with Chicago Heights detectives on the case. Police could not release information Wednesday morning on a motive for the shooting.
