CHICAGO HEIGHTS | The Prairie State College speech team received fifth place of 15 teams and brought home several individual awards from a Nov. 9 and 10 tournament hosted by Kishwaukee College.
Nick Williams, of Homewood, received first place for program oral interpretation, first place for speech to entertain, and third place for poetry. Williams also was named third best overall speaker at the tournament. Liz Rossi, of Crete, received third place for informative speaking. Sarah Hill, of Harvey, received sixth place for speech to entertain. The team was coached by PSC professors Ed Schwarz, David Naze and Elighie Wilson.
“The students continue to show improvement and promise as the season continues. We are really looking forward to seeing how they keep developing,” Naze said.
