CHICAGO HEIGHTS | The Prairie State College speech team placed fourth overall and brought home several individual awards during the recent tournament hosted by the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill.

DaQuawn Bruce, of Riverdale, was named tournament champion for persuasive speaking and received second place for poetry interpretation. Jasmine Ross, of Richton Park, received second place for informative speaking. Destin Patton-Warner, of Riverdale, received third place for speech to entertain, second place for dramatic interpretation, and second place for prose interpretation. Sanni Mohammed-Haruna, of Homewood, received second place for speech to entertain and second place for program oral interpretation.

Also competing were Rachel Latsos, of Flossmoor; Censarray Wilson, of South Holland; Milland Goldman, of Hazel Crest, and Allysha Nobles, of Park Forest. The team was coached by PSC professors David Naze, Elighie Wilson, and Ed Schwarz.
