OLYMPIA FIELDS | The Marian Catholic High School community celebrated the achievements of six remarkable Hall of Fame awardees on Feb. 7 at the Olympia Fields Country Club.

The 2013 Marian Catholic High School Hall of Fame awards include; Alumnus of the Year, Vince Krydynski, III ’81; Athlete of the Year, John Finnin ’78; Fine Arts Distinguished Achievement, Bobby Lambert; Spirit of Marian, Deacon Edward Szymanski '78 and Sister Marion Sitkiewitz, O.P.; and Lifetime Achievement, Sister Agnes Ann Pisel, O.P.

“It was a humbling experience to be honored by Marian Catholic,” said Szymanski ’78, Spirit of Marian awardee. “I was overwhelmed with all of the supporters I had at the event. My experience at Marian Catholic influenced me so much that my wife and I sent our children there. I am grateful to still be active in the service organizations within the school community.”

The Normandy Room at Olympia Fields Country Club was filled with more than 230 Hall of Fame guests. The evening featured a cocktail hour, music provided by the Marian Catholic Band, and heartfelt reflections from the 19th annual Hall of Fame inductees.

“I will always remember the evening of Feb. 7, 2013, when I was inducted into the Marian Catholic Hall of Fame with the Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Pisel. “I was delighted to be a Hall of Fame honoree at the first class celebration that recognized six individuals who represent what Marian stands for.”

The Marian Catholic Hall of Fame was established in 1994 to honor graduates and friends of Marian Catholic High School who have embodied and upheld the school's motto Teaching Scholars with a Soul. The Hall of Fame currently has 95 members.
