CHICAGO HEIGHTS | South suburban businesses donated to a Chicago Heights food pantry on Thursday when a truckload of food arrived at Respond Now, 1439 Emerald Ave.

The South-Southwest Suburban United Way celebrated its annual April Food Day on Thursday with donations from the Southland's hospitality industry and others. The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau along with 19 hotels in 11 municipalities in the south suburbs have been collecting food for the past month, according to a news release from the CVB.

Respond Now has been serving the south suburbs for more than 40 years.
