CHICAGO HEIGHTS | The Marian Catholic Fine Arts Department announces the 10th annual Christmas Madrigal dinners.
The dinners will take place in the Marian Catholic High School band room at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8. Seating begins at 6 p.m.
For the price of admission, Marian Catholic provides dinner catered by Pepion’s in Schererville, and a copy of the Madrigal Singers CD. The dinners will also feature comedy entertainment provided by Daniel Blewitt ’14, as King; Anna Petrelli ’13, as Queen; James Breslin ’13, as Court Jester; Rebecca Hauser ’15, as Serving Wench. Holiday music will showcase the Marian Catholic Madrigal Singers. Greg Bimm and the Marian Catholic band program will provide brass and flute ensembles to add to the holiday atmosphere.
The Madrigal dinner is a modern re-creation of the holiday atmosphere of Elizabethan England. It was common practice for a lord and lady to invite 200 of their closest friends to spend the entire twelve days of Christmas with them, complete with feasting, drinking, song and entertainment.
Tickets are $25 and reservations must be made in advance. To order tickets or for further information, contact Michelle Howisen, choral director, at (708) 756-9442.
