CHICAGO | An armed robbery on the city's South Side on Wednesday resulted in a car chase into Riverdale where two offenders were taken into custody and later questioned in connection with a fatal shooting in Dolton, police said.
Chicago police responded to a call of a robbery at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 9000 block of South Ada Street, said Chicago police Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti. The offenders took the victim's wallet and cellphone and fled in a gray SUV.
The victim was not injured in the incident, police said.
As police radioed a description of the fleeing vehicle, other officers spotted the SUV and a chase ensued into the south suburbs, police said. The fleeing vehicle was involved in a traffic crash at 144th and Halsted streets in Riverdale, Ursitti said. The offenders fled and two were taken into custody by Dolton police for questioning in a fatal shooting in that suburb on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for the Dolton police did not return calls from The Times.
