BURNHAM | A 30-year-old Burnham man died Sunday after leaning out of the window of a moving vehicle and hitting a parked car, police said.

Orlando Mayo Jr., of the 2700 block of East 142nd Street, was in the front passenger side of a red 1987 Chevrolet Caprice that was headed west on the 2000 block of East 79th Street in Chicago, police said. Mayo stuck his body out of the passenger side window of the car and struck a parked car and was then ejected from the vehicle, police said.

He was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he died of multiple injuries at 7:54 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The driver of the Chevrolet Caprice struck a parked car as he fled from the scene. No one is in custody, police said.
