CALUMET CITY | A 35-year-old man was killed early Thursday on the 600 block of Freeland Avenue in Calumet City, police said.

Charles Keller, of Chicago, was shot and died at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Calumet City police said. The shooting happened about 12:35 a.m.

Police did not release any other details about what led to the shooting. 

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Calumet City police in the investigation.
