CHICAGO | What is there better to do on a Wednesday night than to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow?
Thanks to the Forest Preserve District's new programming, many area residents were able to do just that. They gathered at Eggers Woods to learn the proper technique to shoot a bow and arrow as well as the safety requirements.
For many it was the first time trying their hand at such a sport but for others they felt like Robin Hood in the forest — even more so when a raccoon passed behind the targets.
For more information regarding programming at all of the Cook County Forest Preserve Districts go to fpdcc.com/events. From guided hikes and bird watching to nature activities for kids and families, many events are free, others require a small admission fee or registration.
