Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle will host an online town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 23, her office announced Thursday.
During the forum, Cook County residents will be able to tell Preckwinkle their ideas for the county budget, which will be discussed by the board in coming weeks.
There will be video of the town hall streaming live online at Preckwinkle's budget website, www.cookcountyil.gov/budget. Participants can submit questions at the "Tell Toni" page of the website or via Twitter using the hashtag #TellToni.
On June 27, Preckwinkle released a preliminary budget for fiscal year 2013 that projects a shortfall of $267.5 million, according to the news release. That comes after preliminary budget shortfalls of $487 million for FY 2011 and $315 million for FY 2012.
