East Side Pack observes Scout Sunday
CHICAGO | The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before Feb. 8, which is Scouting anniversary day, as Scout Sunday.
This is a day to recognize the accomplishments of these young people and their adult leaders to Scouting and their community. The Scout Law states that a Scout is reverent. He is reverent toward God and is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion.
Scouts of Pack 773 observed Scout Sunday on Feb. 5 at Annunciata Church on the city's East Side. Although many of the Scouts are not parishioners of Annunciata, the Scouts hold their meetings in the parish hall. The Scouts also help with several service projects at Annunciata as a way to thank the parish for use of the facilities. The Scouts will receive a Scout Sunday commemorative patch in recognition of their attendance.
