HOBART | Cub Scouts of Pack 773, who meet at Annunciata Parish on the East Side of Chicago, ventured out of their neighborhood Nov. 2 to hike at Deep River County Park in Hobart.

The Scouts spent their morning hiking in the mud-covered trails for five miles along the fast-moving Deep River. The annual hike, which attracts more than 2,000 visitors, is sponsored by The Order of the Arrow Michigamea Lodge 110. The boys will receive a special patch for their participation.

The hike cost $5 per person and the Michigamea Lodge will use the proceeds to fund projects at Camp Frank S. Betz, in Berrien Springs, Mich.
