CHICAGO | De La Salle Institute announces that a school-record 17 students participated in the recent VanderCook College of Music’s All-Catholic Honor Band Festival on Jan. 18 at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Among the 17 were Jalen Fields (trumpet) of South Holland; Catalina Pelaez (trumpet); DeAnna Pettis (flute) and Daniel Velazquez (clarinet), all of the East Side. 

Also representing De La Salle and participating in the concert were Khalil Bey-Muhammad (alto saxophone) of South Shore; Tyler Brangman (alto saxophone) of Bronzeville; Chun Chiu (percussion) of Bridgeport; Jonathan Cline (bass clarinet) of Archer Heights; Joseph Considine (alto saxophone) of Archer Heights; Nathaniel Gutierrez (trombone) of Cicero; Stacy Jean-Baptiste (percussion) of South Shore; Drew Sansom (tenor saxophone) of Beverly; James Simmons (percussion) of Near North Side; Jamon Thomas (trumpet) of Chatham; Samantha Tobias (flute) of Bridgeport; Yuan Yuan Wu (flute/piccolo) of Bronzeville and Shan Yuan (alto saxophone) of Bronzeville.
