CHICAGO | De La Salle Institute has announced that Isaac Pizana, of the East Side, and Briana Martinez, of West Lawn, were chosen as winners of the St. John Baptist de La Salle Award for the 2012-13 school year.

The St. John Baptist de La Salle Award is presented annually to one senior at the Lourdes Hall Campus for Young Women and one senior at the Institute Campus for Young Men who live the values of faith, service and community, are active within the school and also excel academically.

In addition, both Pizana and Martinez also were afforded the opportunity of carrying the St. John Baptist de La Salle banner as they led their respective classes into Holy Name Cathedral for the graduation ceremony.

Pizana graduated with a 3.968 GPA and was ranked No. 26 in the 150-member class of 2013 at De La Salle’s Institute Campus for Young Men. He will attend Lewis University in the fall.

Martinez graduated with a 4.478 grade-point average and was ranked No. 5 in the 84-member class of 2013 at De La Salle’s Lourdes Hall Campus. She will attend the University of Texas at El Paso in the fall.
