CHICAGO | The Forest Preserves of Cook County will be hosting a series of community open houses in late July to showcase improvements suggested for key sites in the recently released Recreation Master Plan and the 2013–2017 Capital Improvement Plan.

One such open house is planned at Eggers Woods, 11201 S. Avenue B. The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. July 31 in the renovated comfort station.

The open houses will feature design boards for community members to review and offer feedback on prioritizing the proposed improvements. The boards and supporting information will be posted online this week for public comment, which will need to be received by July 31.
