MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. | Police in Mount Prospect, Ill., said they have charged a Hazel Crest man in connection with an armed robbery on Tuesday at a Sprint wireless store.

Marvin L. Jones Jr., 25, of the 16700 block of Anthony Street, is charged with one count of armed robbery. He is scheduled for a bond hearing Saturday.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday at the Sprint store, 905 E. Rand Road. Jones and a second suspect entered the store and one of them pointed a handgun at the customers and employee, ordering them into a room in the rear of the store, police said.

Police said the suspects ordered the employee to place cell phones and tablets into two bags. They then fled the store through the rear door, before police could be notified. No one was injured during the robbery.

Mount Prospect police said they were able to identify and arrest Jones. The second suspect has not been identified or located.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to call the Mount Prospect Police Department's Investigations Section at (847) 870-5654. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers of Mount Prospect at (847) 590-7867 or texting MPPD and the tip to 274637.

Tips made through Crime Stoppers of Mount Prospect that lead to the arrest and prosecution of the offenders could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
