CHICAGO | The Mount Carmel High School’s Fathers Club presents the 38th annual Fight Night on April 27 in the Alumni Gym at Mount Carmel High School, at 6410 S. Dante Ave.
Fight Night is the largest Fathers Club fundraiser with all proceeds going to Mount Carmel High School.
Catch the excitement and tradition of a bygone era with Golden Glove-like amateur boxing matches among students in various weight classes. More than 30 students are currently preparing for and participating in Mount Carmel’s intramural boxing matches to qualify for the event.
The theme for the 2013 Fight Night is “Salute to Service.” Mount Carmel will honor military alumni at the event. If you are a military alumni or know someone who is, submit their name and contact information to Conrad Bar, alumni director, at email@example.com.
The late Mike Fitzgerald, a recently deceased honorary alumnus of Mount Carmel, will also be honored at the event. Fitzgerald led Fight Night efforts at Mount Carmel for decades. He began training boxers at Mount Carmel in 1978 and continued his involvement through the remainder of his life.
Doors open at 6 p.m. on Fight Night and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students. No advance reservations required. For more information, contact the Fathers Club at firstname.lastname@example.org.
