HAZEL CREST | Advocate South Suburban Hospital, 17800 S. Kedzie Ave., announces that registered nurse Jim Zolnowski has been named nurse manager of its intensive care unit, effective Aug. 20.

Zolnowksi is responsible for the coordination of the overall operations of the ICU, dialysis, and IV Team in pursuit of safe, effective patient care. He will monitor standards of nursing practice, ensure availability and appropriate utilization of resources, as well as support collaboration between nursing, physicians and other staff.

Zolnowski’s previous leadership experience includes serving as nurse manager of ICU/Telemetry at Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago and director of critical care and geo-psych services at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas. He earned his bachelor’s at State University of New York at Buffalo and is working toward completion of his master's in nursing-executive leadership at St. Xavier University in Chicago.

“Jim’s skills and leadership experience make him a great addition to our ICU team,” said Richard Multack, vice president of medical management at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. “We are confident that he will play a large role as we continue to provide safe, quality care and service to our patients.”
