CHICAGO | Four Cub Scouts of Pack 773, which meets at Annunciata Parish on the East Side, rose early on May 26 and served as color guard for the opening sunrise service at Wolf Lake.

This was the 13th annual memorial sponsored by the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative, a bistate, nonprofit organization and land trust that seeks to improve and enhance the Wolf Lake watershed.

The AWLI sponsored the two-day Wetlands, Wind & Water Festival on May 25 and 26 at Wolf Lake both in Hammond and Chicago. The Rev. Zaki L. Zaki, of the East Side United Methodist Church, led the sunrise worship service. The Sunrise Singers led by Mary Kuzniar sang many motivational songs. After the service breakfast was provided by Larry Mancini, of Mancini's Pizza in Hegewisch. For more information on AWLI visit
