CHICAGO | Chicago's Shedd Aquarium is now offering healthy menu options to the more than 750,000 children who visit each year.
The popular tourist attraction says it's teaming up with its food-service provider and a local organization called Healthy Fare for Kids on a menu targeting children ages 12 and younger.
Healthy Fare for Kids often partners with restaurants to develop such menus. President and founder Diane Schmidt developed the program with an award-winning chef and a holistic nutrition consultant.
She says she hopes the Shedd initiative will inspire families to make good food choices all the time.
The updated children's menu will include options such as sustainable seafood and all-natural grilled chicken sliders.
