CHICAGO | The Senior Service Coalition of Southeast Chicago sponsored a health fair May 2 at the South Chicago Senior Center, 9233 S. Burley Ave.

Free health screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, glucose, bone density and osteoporosis, cholesterol, diabetes and hypertension, memory and podiatry were provided. Free health services for nutrition information, home health, city medical IDs, city services information, senior housing energy programs and weatherization assistance were offered.

The Southeast Lions Club provided free hearing screenings to 25 participants. About 200 providers and participants attended the health fair.

Some of the public service providers were the Illinois attorney general's office, secretary of state, state treasurer's office and the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities. Some of the health providers were Advocate Trinity Hospital, Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center, Humana Market Point Inc. and the Lions of Illinois Foundation hearing van.
