Curiosity Club

4:15 p.m. March 25

5- to 8-year-olds can come to the Crete Public Library to see things that are curiouser and curiouser while having a whole lot of fun. Groups and organizations must call. This is a repeating event.

Garden Design for Beginners and the Faint of Heart

7 p.m. March 27

Does your garden look unfinished? Learn simple techniques to improve your garden spaces. Presented by Prairie Godmothers.

Digital Photo Club

4:15 p.m. March 27

Ages 7 and up can learn all about taking digital pictures at the library. Enjoy taking pictures and creating a memory with it. If you have your own digital camera bring it. If not you can share the library's three cameras for this program.

Food For Fines

March 31 to April 12

For each nonperishable item donated at the Crete Library for the Crete Food Pantry, $1 will be deducted from library fines. New, unopened, and unexpired items only. For more information, details and restrictions, call the Crete Public Library.

Mother/Child Night Out

6:30 p.m. April 3

Enjoy some one-on-one time with your child at the Crete Library and create something special to take home. Kids aged 7 and up. Registration is required.

Used Book Sale

9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 5

The Friends of the Crete Public Library District are selling books again. Friends (members) enter at 9:30 a.m. others at 10. Most books under $1.

Turning 65 - Understanding Medicare

10 a.m. April 11

Diane Adduci from Blue Cross Blue Shield Illinois returns with an educational program covering eligibility, enrollment, and benefits of Medicare Parts A and B and the standardized Medicare supplemental plans available in Illinois.

5 ways to Save the Planet

7 p.m. April 24

Ages 13 and up can learn concrete ways of going green at the Crete Public Library District. Plant "smart" shrubs. Think differently. Water wisely. Lean in to green living by mixing DIY ingenuity with homespun practicality and a touch of whimsy. Take charge of local sustainability by starting at home with five easy ways to save the planet. Presented by Prairie Godmothers.

Crete Public Library District has expanded its services with streaming video available to enjoy from the library’s website, http://www.cretelibrary.org. Library card holders have instant access to streaming video with a growing catalog of digital feature films, documentaries, educational, children’s favorites and more with a modern, easy-to-use viewing experience. Users may browse the video selection on the library’s website, borrow titles with a valid library card, and stream on most mobile and desktop devices. All videos will automatically expire so there are no late fees.
