CRETE | On Oct. 3, the Crete Public Library went back in time when Carol Perry portrayed her grandmother, Ida Adams, in “Without Women, Crete Could Be a Ghost Town."

Dressed in vintage attire, Perry shared the life of Ida Adams and the role women played in the history of Crete.

Perry explained the “Victorian Mantra” with the audience, which was, find a man who could provide for you and marry him, be a good Christian wife, be an excellent housekeeper and provide your husband with children.
