CRETE | The Crete Public Library’s Youth Services Department announces its April programs for children. Registration is required for all programs other than drop-in story times. Register in person at 1177 N. Main St., by phone at (708) 672-8017 or online at http://www.cretelibrary.org/.

Wee Ones Story Time

10 to 10:30 a.m. April 5, 12, 19, 26 and May 3

For children ages up to 24 months. Children and caregivers will enjoy simple rhymes and stories plus play time.

Toddler Story Time

10 to 10:30 a.m. April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 or

10 to 10:30 a.m. April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1

For children ages 2 and 3 years old and their caregivers. Activities include stories, music and flannel board activities. Please sign up for one session.

Preschool Story Time

1 to 1:45 p.m. April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 or

10 to 10:45 a.m. April 4, 11, 18, 25 and May 1

For children 4 and 5 years old. Children will be listening to stories and music plus make a craft to take home. Please sign up for one session

Curiosity Club

4 to 4:45 p.m. April 2, 9, 16, 23

For children ages 5 to 8 years old. Explore the world of science and technology through stories and by moving from station to station to do fun activities.

Tween Ink

4:30 to 5:30 p.m. April 8

For children ages  9 to 12 years old. Bring your writing project or create a new one with Miss April's help. When your project is finished you will learn how to submit your writing to various publications.

GROSS (Get Rid OF Slimy girlS)

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 11

For boys age 7 years and up.

Lego Club

1 to 2 p.m. April 13

Lego fun for ages 6 years and up.

Tween Art Studio

4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 15 or

4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 22

For ages 9 years and up. New art techniques will be learned and applied to different projects each month. Please register for one session.

Girls Night Out

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 17

For girls 7 years old and up. Miss Bethann will have a fun craft for you to make. Bring your friends for a girl’s night out together.

GRUB  (Get Rid of Ucky Boys)

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 25

A program just for girls ages 7 years old and up. Girls this is your special time to enjoy Miss Michelle's awesome program.

Mastering the Arts

4 to 4:45 p.m. April 30

For children 5, 6, 7 and 8 years old. This is a beginning art experience exposing your child to basic concepts and skills through the Picturing America program. Picturing America is an exciting new initiative from the National Endowment for the Humanities that brings masterpieces of American art into classrooms and libraries nationwide.
