Toddler Time is on Tuesdays, Oct., 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. for ages 2 and 3 years old. This program offers a time of music, stories and rhymes to be enjoyed by you and your child.
Toddler Time With Art
Toddler Time With Art is on Wednesdays, Oct., 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. for ages 2 and 3 years old. This program offers a time of music, stories, rhymes and art to be enjoyed by you and your child.
The Crete Public Library invites children ages up to 24 months of age to Wee Ones Story Time on Fridays, Oct. 4 11, 18 and 25 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Children and caregivers will enjoy simple rhymes, stories, songs, and finger plays. Early literacy skills are modeled for you in the class.
Pre School Story Hour Little Einsteins
Little Einsteins will take place on Tuesdays, Oct. 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Children ages 4 and 5 years old will experience a program that incorporates science and math themes into music, stories and craft activities. It also will take place on Thursdays, Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Choose one session to attend.
Curiosity Club for children ages 5 to 8 will be on Tuesdays, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Explore the world of science and technology through stories and by moving from station to station to do fun activities.
ME4E (Multidisciplinary Education for the Environment)
The Crete Public Library welcomes back ME4E with Emily Cook. Children ages 5 and older join Miss Emily for ME4E on Wednesdays, Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 4 to 5 p.m. The programs are titled Leaf Identification, Up & Away, Migration Mayhem, and Let's Take A Closer Look. For those older than 10, Emily has taught students of all ages about the natural world around them.
Graphic Novel Reading Club
Graphic Novel Reading Club will take place from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Oct. 3 for ages 9 and older. The chosen graphic novel is "Bone" by Jeff Smith. Humor, mystery, and adventure are spun together in this action-packed, side-splitting saga. Snacks will be served. Books available in the Youth Services.
Star Wars Reading
The Crete Public Library will celebrate all things Star Wars and watch a movie, too, from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 5. This special Star Wars time is for children ages 6 and older.
GROSS (Get Rid Of Stinky girlS)
The Crete Public Library will hold GROSS from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10. This program is for boys ages 7 and 8. Miss Michelle has so many great activities planned. Don't miss this popular boys program.
Lego Day will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 12. Children ages 6 and older will have fun creating different Lego projects and playing with their friends.
Chess Night is from 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14. Enjoy playing with a friend or meet a new person to play a game with. Beginners will receive help learning the game.
Scary Story Night
Scary Story Night is from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17 for children 9 and older. Enjoy time around the outside fire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows while listening to stories that will have you looking over your shoulder.
Art Studio I
The Crete Public Library will hold Art Studio I for ages 9 and older from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 21. Various types of mediums will be introduced to create works of art that will be displayed for all to see. Please bring an 11-inch by 14-inch white canvas, which can be bought at Michael's or Joann's Fabric. There is a smaller class size, so sign up early. There will be Art Studio II from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 28. Sign up for only one Art Studio program.
Girls Night Out
The Crete Library will hold Girls Night Out for girls 7 and older from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16. Miss Bethann will have a fun craft for you to make. Bring your friends for a girl’s night out together.
The Crete Public Library invites Minecraft gamers to enjoy time with other Minecraft fans for an ultimate multiplayer adventure from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 26. Children ages 9 to 12 years are invited to play.
Sleepy Time Tales
The Crete Public Library invites families to Sleepy Time Tales from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23. Children may bring a pillow and wear their jammies to enjoy stories and songs.
G.R.U.B (Get Rid of Ucky Boys)
The Crete Public Library offers G.R.U.B., a program just for girls ages 7 and older, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24. Girls, this is your special time to enjoy Miss Michelle's awesome program.
