Computer Basics Series

5 p.m. on Mondays, April 14, 21 and 28

No experience required. This three-class series is a beginner's introduction to computers and the Internet. Meets three Mondays in a row and covers three topics: Intro to Computers, Intro to the Internet, and Searching the Internet. Registration required and is open. 

5 ways to Save the Planet

7 p.m. April 24

Ages 13 and up can learn concrete ways of going green at the Crete Public Library District. Plant "smart" shrubs. Think differently. Water wisely. Lean in to green living by mixing DIY ingenuity with homespun practicality and a touch of whimsy. Take charge of local sustainability by starting at home with five easy ways to save the planet. Presented by Prairie Godmothers.

Lit Cafe at the Edge

6:30 p.m. April 30

Meet at The Edge Coffee House to discuss this month's title "In the After" by Demitria Lunetta. In a post-apocalyptic world where nothing is as it seems, 17-year-old Amy and Baby, a child she found while scavenging, struggle to survive while vicious, predatory creatures from another planet roam the Earth. Copies available in advance in the Adult Services department.

Battle of the Books!

6 to 8 p.m.  April 29, 30 and May 1

It's a knock down, drag out, intellectual fight for literary supremacy. Bring the family out to the Crete Public Library to watch teams and schools compete. Join the legions of fans to find out who will reign supreme in this extremely popular library event.
