Crete Woman's Club awards 8 summer camp scholarships

CRETE | The Crete Woman’s Club awarded eight summer camp scholarships to high school students living in Crete or Crete Township.

Each student received a $250 scholarship toward a summer camp.

Jeremy Gates, who is a freshman at Illinois Lutheran High School, will be attending Scholastic for STEM, a camp highlighting science, technology, education and mathematics. Adrianna Vera, a sophomore at Crete-Monee High School, will attend the Northwestern Girls’ Soccer Academy. Jessica Hale, a CMHS freshman, will attend the Show Choir of America Music Camp. Mariah Lehmkuhl, a CMHS junior, will attend the Smith Walbridge Clinic for Drum Majors. Allison and Emily Carlos are sophomores at CMHS. They will attend a camp in Minnesota at which they will volunteer to rebuild homes for the needy. Kayla Cabrera is a home schooled freshman who will attend the Indiana University Summer Camp in music. Matthew Dutczak, a junior at Marian Catholic High School, will attend a summer Music for All Symposium.

Crete Woman's Club and the Crete community congratulate these young achievers as they move forward in their learning.
