ALSIP | An Alsip man was convicted Tuesday of the May 2006 killing of an FBI informant, officials said.

Jerry Henderson, 41, was charged with first degree murder and could face life in prison.

Timothy Forrest, 41, was working as an informant and had agreed to buy firearms and grenades from Henderson as part of an FBI investigation, according to a release from the Office of the State Attorney's Office in Cook County.

Forrest and Henderson agreed to meet in Dolton to complete the purchase.

Forrest, who was wearing a body recording device during the meeting, was shot twice in the head, according to the release. Officials who were watching the sale said they saw Henderson get into the same car as Forrest.

A judge will sentence Henderson on Feb. 26.
