DOLTON | At its Feb. 21 Parent Advisory Committee meeting, Dolton West Elementary District 148 will showcase the new InformationNOW Parent Portal web-based tool which parents/guardians can use to access their child’s grades, attendance, demographic, and other school information.

The Parent Advisory Committee meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the media center/computer lab at Park Elementary School, 14200 Wentworth Ave., Riverdale.

The Parent Portal online service enables parents and guardians to view information about their child’s academic progress from any computer with an Internet connection.

“We are using this technology to keep families informed and to support parents’ and guardians’ continued involvement in their children’s education. We know this home-school connection benefits everyone — parents/guardians, teachers, the school and, most importantly, the students,” District 148 Superintendent Jayne E. Purcell said.

During this Parent Advisory Committee meeting, District 148 also will demonstrate Atomic Learning, a high-quality technology training resource, which includes nearly 50,000 tutorials such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Photoshop, using your iPad, Twitter and YouTube, to name a few.
