FORD HEIGHTS | A 21-year-old Hazel Crest man was arrested and charged with armed robbery and vehicular invasion in connection with an incident in Ford Heights.
According to the Cook County Sheriff's Department, on Feb. 22, a 23-year-old woman was getting into her car at a gas station in the 1600 block of E. Lincoln Highway when Monetz Fulwiley allegedly approached her.
The woman started to shut the car door when Fulwiley allegedly pulled it open and pointed a silver handgun at her.
Police said Fulwiley allegedly pressed the gun into the victim's ribcage, demanded her phone and took her purse. He told the woman to drive away and not say anything before he drove away from the gas station.
Fulwiley was arrested without incident Sunday in Hazel Crest, police said.
He appeared in bond court Wednesday at the Cook County Sixth District Circuit Courthouse in Markham where bond was set at $300,000.
He is scheduled to appear again in court March 20.
